The Wood Tower Shield is the first Tower Shield you can craft in Valheim. It has high block armor but cannot be used to parry. All tower shields also inflict a significant movement speed penalty.
Most players will prefer the mobility of Round Shields and their ability to parry. Parrying in Valheim is a powerful technique that gives you room to counter-attack. However, the tower shields have an exceptional blocking ability and are capable of soaking up tons of damage.
