Slash damage is one of the physical damage types in Valheim. Bladed weapons like swords and knives deal slash damage.
Slashing, slicing, and cutting attacks will inflict slash damage which is only effective against fleshy creatures (boar or draugr) that don’t have protective hide (lox). Currently, slash damage is slightly underpowered. Several creatures are resistant to slash and few are weak to slash damage.
A notable problem with slash damage is that most of the same creatures that are resistant to slash are also resistant to pierce. This means that if you use a bow and a slashing weapon, you will end up with no weapons that are effective. This is most noticeable with Bonemass, where you will be forced to use a club because neither bows nor axes/swords deal damage.

There are currently no enemies that are weak to slash damage in Valheim.
